American Idol

American Standards Week worked out pretty well. Jamie Foxx was an entertaining mentor. I almost thought that crowd favorite Adam Lambert was going home for a second. He probably didn't get as many votes because people thought he was safe. I still have no idea how that Chirs guy keeps squeeking by. I expect he may go next week. We'll miss Hat Guy. Hopefully he can get some assistance for that pimple on his forehead. Don't they have makeup people on Idol?

Last Night's Raw

Raw was decent last night. They did a nice job of trying to hype up the new draft picks. Miz seemed quite hateable and they are continuing to try to re-build The Big Show. They really could have done something with MVP if he had scored some kind of victory over Randy Orton, but it was just a backdrop for Super Shane, who isn't going to ever draw a rating, sell any merchandise, or add buys to PPV. It never ends.

Rams Draft

My beloved St. Louis Rams had the second overall pick in the weekend's NFL draft and thankfully they picked an offensive lineman (Jason Smith). With their second pick they got James Laurinitis, a linebacker. Perhaps the best thing about him is that he is the son of Road Warrior Animal (above) and the nephew of Johnny Ace/John Laurinitis, the dreaded head of WWE Talent Relations. If he becomes good enough, maybe the Rams can give him his own seperate entrance where he could come out to "Ironman" wearing spiked shoulder pads like his father or he could come out on a skateboard like his uncle. This is the best thing to happen to the Rams since Denzel Washington's son washed out a couple of years ago.

WWE Backlash Results

Results of last night's show from Providence, Rhode Island:

- Christian beat Jack Swagger for the ECW Title

- Chris Jericho beat Ricky Steamboat

- Kane beat C.M. Punk

- Jeff Hardy beat Matt Hardy in an I-Quit Match

- Randy Orton became the new Raw World champ by pinning Triple H in the six-man tag match

- Edge beat John Cena to win the Smackdown World title

Sounded like a decent show.

American Idol

Disco Week was kinda fun. The individual performances were solid and even the group song was good. Seeing the ghosts of Freeda Payne, Thelma Houston and KC was interesting. No big surprise that Lil Rounds and Anoop got sent home. Probably the most amazing thing was that Paula was really good doing the choreography, making this the second week in a row that she wasn't that annoying. That must be some kind of record.

Ric Flair is coming to ROH TV!:

WWE Raw

Pretty lame show (at least the half that I saw after 24). Why is one of their most popular and most marketable champions (Rey Mysterio) being jobbed out in seconds to Big Show (who is involved in nothing right now)? I swear, they don't know how to promote anymore. Speaking of which, why is Ricky Steamboat doing a singles comeback match with one week of notice? Triple H vs. Randy Orton picked up towards the end, but I never need to see these two go at it again. Please remove Shane McMahon from my screen.

Rock of Love Bus Reunion Show

The Rock of Love Bus Reunion show was typical VH-1 reunion fare: the infomercial atmosphere, fake laughing in the crowd shots, cast members you couldn't possibly remember and an obviously staged fight. It was mildly entertaining with the funniest things being host Rikki Rachtman barely being able to contain his contempt for winner Taya and Taya acting like a total prick. It was blatant that Bret and Taya will not last. Bring on Rock of Love Car, Rock of Love Motorcycle or whatever the hell is next.

TNA Lockdown Results

Results from last night's TNA Lockdown pay-per-view show from Philadelphia:

- Eric Young beat Danny Bonaduce in the pre-show. Bonaduce got gored by Rhino after the match.

- Suicide won a four-way X Division match

- ODB won a four-way Queen of the Cage match

- Motor City Machine Guns beat LAX and No Limit

- Matt Morgan beat Abyss. Stevie Richards debuted and attacked Abyss

- Angelina Love became the new Knockouts Champion by beating Awesome Kong and Taylor Wilde

- Team 3D beat Beer Money to win the TNA Tag Team titles

- The Good Guys beat the Main Event Mafia in the Lethal Lockdown Match. Bobby Lashley came out but no one knows which side he is on.

- Mick Foley beat Sting to win the TNA World Title.

The consensus seems to be that this was an average show.

Impact!

Awwww, look who messed around and put on a good show! The return of Christopher Daniels (who put on a good match with Kurt Angle), a showdown between Cactus Jack and Sting, and The Beautiful People cut Awesome Kong's hair. Plus they just announced that they signed a former world champion from another organization. Let the speculation begin (Tazz). This weekend's PPV could be pretty good.

- The Undertaker vs. Matt Hardy

- Christian vs. Fit Finlay

- Shane McMahon vs. Cody Rhodes

American Idol

It was quite an eventful night. Not only did Paula bring the boobs back out (she seems much more tolerable when she does that), but somehow Lil Rounds got saved for another week and Matt got voted off. Then for the first time ever, The Save was used and Matt got saved. Although what is the point, since he will probably be gone again next week. Can't wait for Disco Week on Tuesday.

The WWE Draft

What a farce! What's the point of holding a draft since everyone is on every show anyway? "Triple H is coming to Raw!" So what-- he's been on the past 12 weeks! Then they traded some guys who will never get pushed and broke up their best tag team (Miz and Morrison). ECW was BURIED. At least I will be able to see Maryse in HD now.

Rock of Love Bus Season Finale

I sat through all of these weeks of Rock of Love Bus and this fool picked the most annoying contestant, Taya (above)? Are you kidding? This relationship will be over by the time the reunion special airs next Sunday. Oh well, at least he got to bang that little minx Mandy on the way out. Can't wait for this Daisy of Love foolishness in two weeks.

American Idol

I never liked "Songs From Your Birth Year" week and this season was no exception. It was pretty lackluster for the most part. The blind guy got cut this week and it was about time. He was a fine singer but never had that blow-away performance during the competition. Lil Rounds better really step it up if she hopes to stay on the show. On an unrelated note, if I had to do a song from my birth year, I could have done "Ben" by Michael Jackson, "Let's Stay Together" by Al Green or "Lean On Me" by Bill Withers. Damn, I'm old.

I Love Money 2

Yay! Finally Becky "Buckwild" got sent packing and I no longer have to hear her annoying voice! This is the best thing to happen to this show since Milf rolled around in the mud.

WrestleMania 25 Results

Results from last night's WrestleMania 25 pay-per-view show from Houston, Texas:

- C.M. Punk won the Money in the Bank match for the second year in a row. Good match with great spots from Shelton Benjamin, Christian and others.

- Kid Rock performed a medley of his hits. Dreadful. This was the worst lip synching job in history. Towards the end the Divas came down the stage for the battle royal.

- Santino Marella in drag won the Miss WrestleMania battle royal. Disappointing because the women didn't get an introduction, thus no one really got any airtime. You couldn't tell most of them apart and couldn't even tell who was in the match. Just a waste. Among those that returned were Sunny, Victoria, Jackie Gayda, Molly Holly and Torrie Wilson. If you want to see who was actually in this match, you can find pix here and here.

- Chris Jericho beat Superfly Snuka, Roddy Piper and Ricky Steamboat in a gauntlet match. Fun for the nostalgia, but kinda sad with Piper and Snuka. Steamboat was in great shape and pulled out some moves from the glory days. After the match, Jericho brawled with Flair, then Mickey Rourke came out of the crowd all business, "boxed" with Jericho and knocked him out. Kinda lame.

- Matt Hardy beat Jeff Hardy in an extreme rules match. A bit of a letdown. I was talking through most of this match anyway.

- Rey Mysterio beat JBL to win the IC title in about 20 seconds. Afterwards, JBL quit.

- Undertaker beat Shawn Michaels. Excellent match. A testament to both of these guys is that everyone knew that Undertaker was going to win, yet everyone was on their feet until the very end. A WrestleMania classic.

- John Cena beat Edge and The Big Show to win the World Title. The best part was Cena's entrance where an army of guys dressed like him lined the entranceway. It was downhill from there.

- The class of 2009 Hall of Fame inductees were introduced. Stone Cold Steve Austin got a huge reaction from the crowd. He came out on his vehicle and drank beer.

- Triple H beat Randy Orton to retain the WWE title in a lame match. Crowd was silent for this. How many more times can they end a PPV show with Triple H winning before people revolt?

Good show overall. I'll be back later with thoughts and pix from my WrestleMania weekend.

Britney's Candie's Ads

The comeback continues. Britney Spears is the new spokesmodel for Candie's Shoes. Despite the airbrushing, very nice-- although I don't think anyone is looking at the shoes.

American Idol

I was already waiting to see Megan leave with her hideous arm tattoo and bad performances, but after she kept doing that damn bird call last night, she couldn't have left soon enough. It was about three weeks overdue. Good riddance. I should stop watching this show now, because I can already see that Adam is going to win and that guy is wretched. As it is, I'm gonna need counseling to get that cartoonish rendition of "Play That Funky Music" out of my head.

The End of King Magazine?

Sad news from the publishing world as it has been reported that King Magazine will be going under shortly. Where are the big booty stars of tomorrow going to go now? This magazine goes under, meanwhile Flat European Asses Monthly continues to thrive. A travesty.

WrestleMania News

WWE finally announced the former Divas who will be returning on Sunday for the Miss WrestleMania Battle Royal. Among those returning will be Molly Holly (above), Torrie Wilson, Jackie Gayda, Victoria and Tammy "Sunny" Sytch. Why announce these names now when they could have been hyping this up all along? Who knows. I'm so old that I remember when these people used to know how to promote.

In other WWE news, this is either another stupid angle for Sunday or an April Fool's Joke: the WWE website is reporting that Smackdown General Manager Vickie Guerrero is pregnant. I hope we're not going to have a summer-long angle trying to figure out who the father is. Somebody please get me a Ring of Honor DVD-- fast.
