A Tribe Called Quest has always been one of my favorite rap groups so I had to pick up Q-Tip's new CD "The Renaissance" on Tuesday. I think this is his first official release since 1999's "Amplified". And it was damn near worth the wait. The CD is excellent from beginning to end. It's just great, laid back, Quest-style hip-hop that you don't hear much anymore. There are guest appearances by Raphael Saddiq, Norah Jones, and D'Angelo (which is my favorite cut). This is probably my choice for CD of the year. Don't sleep on this! Get it at cduniverse.com, Target, Amazon, itunes, or wherever the hell else music is sold. Just get it!
