Keeping Up With The Kardashians

Episode three of the Keeping Up With The Kardashians-- can they keep the streak alive? The plot of this episode centered around the owner of Girls Gone Wild calling from jail to ask if the three oldest Kardashian girls could participate in an ad campaign for his new swimwear line. As a rule, nothing good can come from dealing with the guy from Girls Gone Wild. They agreed to the shoot but decided not to tell Bruce Jenner because he might object. He apparently was still pissed about the infamous sex tape. So the broads and their mother jetted off to the shoot, leaving Bruce with the two youngest girls. At some point the brother showed up and spilled the beans about the shoot, saying it was for Girls Gone Wild. So Plastic Man went off to the shoot, leaving the son with the two kids. In the first really contrived part of the series, Bruce showed up and interrupted the shoot, saying he was upset that he wasn't told. But they went on with the shoot. You could tell this part was all a set-up. The show started resembling Hogan Knows Best. Eventually the wife offered to help him take a shower. I think I'm going to be sick. Anyway, they all got home (with the son wearing the same clothes he was wearing "a few days ago"-- revealing that this bullshit was all probably taped in the same day) and all was right with the world. A step down from last week, but the previews for next week look promising.

Rock of Love Finale

The phenominal Rock of Love ended its season on Sunday in grand fashion. Bret went on dates with both of the final ladies then chose one at the final ceremony. In the end, probably figuring the stripper's best years were behind her, he chose 23 year old Jes (above). You had to feel bad for second place finisher Heather. She got ridiculed throughout the series for being a stripper, had an ill-fated tattoo of Bret put on her neck then presumably got tossed right before axed from the show. Of course, she went out in grand fashion by walking out without saying a word then talking a gang of trash-- just like her counterpart, "New York" from Flavor of Love. Somehow, I don't think we're going to be seeing Heather of Love anytime soon. I give the Bret/Jes relationship about two days. Can't wait for the reunion show next week.

In The Name of Equality.....

Why should black women be the only ones allowed to be on the cover of one of the nation's most salacious magazines? In an effort to promote racial unity (or whatever) the October issue of black men's magazine King will feature an Armenian (code for "white girl") on the cover for the first time ever. It's only fitting that Hollywood Nation favorite Kim Kardashian would receive the honor. Martin Luther King would be proud. Why do I have a feeling that when I reach for this thing on the newsstand at Wal-Mart, some sister is going to leap out of the greeting card aisle and hit me with a brick?

Here We Go Again

Not wanting to fall behind VH-1 in the race for the most disgraceful reality show, MTV is back in the hunt by reuniting the cast of the most scandalous season ever of the Real World-- the Las Vegas cast. Ahhhh, the memories. And a lot of them came racing back as I watched Wednesday night's season premiere. I almost had a tear in my eye thinking of Brynn throwing a fork at Steven, Steven whining about it forever, Alton taking Iralan's pen to get some other girl's number, and so much more.

The show started with the cast reuniting in the same hotel suite where the original show was shot. It turns out that some of these folks hadn't spoken in four years. Who would have thought? The first sign of trouble started when the cast had to choose which room they would stay in. Irulan wanted to make sure that she wasn't with her former pal Aryssa, who is slowly turning into the cast's lead heel. Somewhere around this time, the girl for whom the term "reality TV skank" was invented, Trishelle, showed up. Also Brynn's husband (!) and kid (!!) arrived for a visit. Awwww, they're gonna ruin everything!

After the group had dinner and drinks together, Irulan and Aryssa got into a heated argument over something that happened four years ago, which couldn't possibly matter today. The producers had to be high fiving and hugging each other in the production room. Meanwhile, back at the hotel, Frank brought home the first skank he could find that would agree to come back to a hotel with a guy she just met who has six roommates and a full camera crew. Romance! Irulan demanded a showdown with Aryssa and Alton to find out who was telling the truth about whatever happened four years ago. Then, "TO BE CONTINUED..."

First episode: A+. You know when Trishelle is on a show and she's just a background player, then you have a great show. Can't wait until next week.
