Lashley Wins

I want to give a shout-out to former WWE headliner Bobby Lashley, who is now moving up the ranks in the MMA world. He had a bout this weekend against a guy named Mike Cook. Cook mocked Lashley's wrestling background by wearing a Rey Mysterio mask to the ring and doing the Hulk Hogan posing routine. Lashley then proceeded to beat Cook in all of 25 seconds. Glad to hear it. I hope he makes it all the way to UFC.

Brock Lesnar: UFC Heavyweight Champion

Congratulations to Brock Lesnar, who beat Randy Couture last night in Las Vegas to become the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. Lesnar won in the second round after he knocked Couture down with a punch then swooped down on him like a pterodactyl and peppered him with about 20 punches before the referee stopped it. Lesnar becomes the first man to ever win both the WWE World Title and the UFC Heavyweight Title. He also becomes the first UFC Heavyweight Champion to have once been pinned by Eddie Guerrero's frog splash. Congrats on the victory!

Elite XC Show

I'm a casual MMA fan so I watched the Elite XC show on CBS Saturday night. I enjoyed it. Not as much as I Love Money, but I enjoyed it. A couple of brief notes:

- I actually enjoyed the women's match the most. How stupid would Cris Cyborg had felt if she had been celebrating, returned to the ring, then gotten knocked out? Luckily for her, she finished the job. How hot was Gina Carano (above) during the interview? Speaking of hot, where has interviewer Karyn Bryant been all this time?

- I guess all of that blood was on the mat from one of the prelim matches. Does Elite XC own a mop? Or a paper towel? That can't be healthy.
