News and Notes

Bad Girls Club is off the chain this season. Each week they seem to top the last episode. It's tough to tell which girl is the most annoying! (Although if someone twisted my arm, I would have to say it's the Jay Leno girl). This is a must watch show... American Idol was decent this week. I liked the guest judges (except for Jonas Boy). I have no idea why they picked Avril Lavigne but she turned out mean enough to be good. Katy Perry=hot. Neil Patrick Harris was really good as well. The standout contestant was the girl who had been on Barney and auditioned as a dominatrix whore. Very creative. I soooo hope she makes it this season. I noticed on Tuesday's show that Randy's elbows were ashy as hell. Maybe it was the HD. Anyway, I'm tired of auditions and ready for the competition... It looks like we are headed towards Monday Night War II, as the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that TNA Impact (a.k.a. Total Nonstop Talking) is headed for Monday nights starting March 1st. I hope they both lose in the ratings, if that was possible. WWE is stale and TNA doesn't know whether to scratch its watch or wind its ass. Hopeless. I wish it was the Monday Night War between Dragon Gate and ROH... RIP Georgiann Makropoulos.

News and Notes

I managed to find the Dragon Gate USA wrestling show on pay-per-view. I'm only about 3/4 of the way through it and it's already worth the twenty bucks. The Davey Richards match was as good as had been described. Wrestling presented as sport. I love it! Check it out if you can... Speaking of great wrestling, Ring of Honor executive producer Jim Cornette's latest rant on the Who's Slamming Who show is right here... Great day of NFL games. I kinda wanted to see a Colts vs. Vikings Super Bowl matchup (the Manning vs. Favre hype would have been out of this world) but the Saints certainly deserve to finally go to the big game. Should be fun. As long as there is food, I'm gonna enjoy it regardless.

News and Notes

Here's a clip of WWE's best feud, Mickie James vs. The Mean Girls from tonight's Smackdown. This time Michelle and Layla put Mickie's face in a cake and poured punch over her head. Poor Mickie!:

I enjoyed the Haiti telethon tonight. I wonder if the celebrities really answered the phone. The songs were kind of depressing, but I guess that's what they had to do. I enjoyed the Jay-Z/Rihanna/U2 and Madonna performances the best. Who was that with Dave Matthews?... I caught the last episode of The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien. Good show. He went out with class, thanking NBC for his years with SNL, Late Night and the short-lived Tonight Show stint. I also liked how he put everything into perspective and said how lucky he is. I'm sure his next show will be a big success. My main concern is the fate of Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

Impact Thoughts

I have mixed emotions about the new Hulk Hogan-led Impact. On one hand, they are doing some things good (slowing down the pace, making a big deal of A.J. Styles, Kurt Angle's direction, creating interest in the project) but on the other hand there is stuff that is driving me crazy (central storyline centers around old men fighting over...... I'm not really sure, the Nasty Boyz, Bubba, etc.-- and really, how long before we see Brutus Beefcake?). Ken Kennedy Anderson's act is already tired. And for Pete's sake, will somebody draw the line between the good guys and bad guys?... Another strike against them: Awesome Kong allegedly quit (I hope she reconsiders) and Alyssa Flash is gone (FOOLS!). I'll give this group the benefit of the doubt for now but I'm not hopeful... On the flipside, I've heard nothing but great things about the Dragon Gate USA Wrestling PPV that debuts this weekend. I know I'm going to try to catch it if I can find it on my system.

News and Notes

My hero! The funniest story of the day concerns TNA wrestler Awesome Kong (above). A couple of days ago, Florida shock jock/TNA interviewer/all-around idiot Bubba the Love Sponge posted this on Twitter:

"I say f*** hati. Why do we have to take care of everybody our country is in shambles. Bubba".

(The sh!thead couldn't even spell "Haiti" correctly). At last night's TV tapings, Kong allegedly approached Bubba backstage and punched him in the face twice. I love this woman... The American Idol tryouts from Chicago were pretty lame. All goofs and sad stories. Better luck tomorrow... Check out the clip below of Jennifer Lopez doing the monologue for Monday's Lopez Tonight. Who knew the broad could be funny and almost not annoying?:

News and Notes

The NFL weekend was pretty disappointing overall. You know it's bad when the best thing all weekend is Bret Favre singing "Pants on the Ground". And worst of all, the Chargers lost, which means we probably won't be seeing much more of this:

I read the results of the TNA Genesis show and it seemed skipable. Why did they get rid of the six-sided ring? Was that really the biggest problem this company had? I'm glad to hear the fans rejected the tired Val Venis act. Mr. Kennedy is back-- big deal. I'm losing faith in this new regime with each passing day... On the other hand, it was great to have 24 back! Jack just keeps getting drawn back in. I would have loved to had seen Freddie Prinze Jr.'s reaction when he got this role and could leave the WWE "creative" team. Talk about a giant step. I wonder what secret his character's woman is hiding. Likely stripping or porn. Gives me something to look forward to on Mondays.
